I am so happy to be sharing a now-favorite recipe for spring...
Violet Shortbread Cookies with Lemon Glaze
I am known among family and friends for my Almond Shortbread Cookies around Christmas time. There's not been a year skipped since my girls were young, and I don't intend to stop either!
The beauty of spring and violets are here, and for several years I've been wanting to try my hand at cooking with the essence and flavoring of violets.
Herbs have symbolic meanings that goes back for centuries. I think that is so amazing! Imagine that centuries ago, people were using the same sprigs of rosemary, lavender, oregano, rue, etc. to either use in culinary recipes for health, tuck into posies to perfume the air, or to rub into a police to heal their ailments. There is nothing else in the world that we have access to on a daily basis that has such a copious amount of uses, and that is so very, very steeped in our history.
I'm pretty happy about my book events, and feeling super confident that I'm going to offer attendees some helpful insight to flowers, a peek into our history of the language of flowers, and tons of garden-inspired bouquets that tell a story!
